76 Filmmakers, 27 Countries, 1 Day

Filmed entirely by Indigenous, local, and Afro-Descendant Peoples

A Day on Earth is a bold model of participatory filmmaking, creating a collective portrait of the planet as seen through the eyes of frontline storytellers from across the territories.

Moving beyond crisis and catastrophe, we center connection to the land and belonging as a way to bring you a hopeful, solutions-driven call to reimagine our relationship with nature from the ground up.

For them, everyday is earth day. This documentary was created to support these filmmakers and to have an impact. To diversify climate voices and to bring everyone into a space of love for this magical planet.”
Paul Redman, Director
“I discovered the language through the stories, by the images, but also with the video, because that is a different way. So I think the world needs a film like that. The world needs this kind of work”
Ana Lucía Ixchíu, Impact Producer
“This footage reflects a living story of Indigenous survival, family strength, and our relationship with the land. Filming this wasn't just about capturing a day but about showing how we live with intention.”
Whitney Snow, Filmmaker
"We possess a wealth of local knowledge, including agriculture, food, architecture, social sciences, and the arts. All the traditional systems developed and devised by our elders are the answer to the challenges of today's modern world."
Jatiswara Mahardika, Filmmaker

Whose story counts?

In a time of negative news cycles and polarized politics, there is an urgent need for unifying messages of hope.

This is a pivotal moment in the climate movement, when growing public apathy collides with accelerating climate impacts and high-stakes global decisions. Yet, stories of frontline guardians of ecosystems remain sidelined, often unheard.

The world needs the voices of those most deeply connected to the earth.

By centering Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and local people, A Day on Earth reminds us that we are all part of something larger, something sacred, something worth preserving.

We need stories that restore attention, agency, and hope, especially as the climate crisis intensifies.

We invited hundreds of frontline storytellers to film everyday acts of care – from seed harvesting and community healing, to dance ceremony and forest patrols.

Their stories invite us to reflect on what is possible when frontline people shape representation itself, inspiring collective action.

A Day on Earth offers an urgent answer: narrative power can connect these communities with global decision-makers and audiences. What if it also sparked a movement of collective responsibility?
